Dr. Marcus’s first step in a dental rehabilitation is to conduct a thorough examination including 3D X-rays and intraoral scans. He gets to the bottom of what’s going on inside your mouth and makes a treatment plan that will restore health, function and aesthetics to your teeth and smile. 

A healthy smile begins with controlling harmful bacteria. Over time, a sticky layer called biofilm builds up on the teeth and gums. If left untreated, it can lead to cavities, gum disease, and other oral health problems.

Our hygienists use Guided Biofilm Therapy, an advanced cleaning method that gently detects and removes this buildup. They disclose the biofilm location with a harmless dye and, using a gentle airflow device that sprays fine powder, remove the biofilm and stains. Our hygienists also show you where the biofilm has built up so you can be sure to target it in your home care.

The process is precise, comfortable, and more effective than traditional cleanings.

Healthy gums are the foundation of a healthy smile. When gum disease is left untreated, it can lead to bleeding gums, loose teeth, and even tooth loss. At our office, we provide comprehensive treatment to stop the disease in its tracks and protect your oral health.

Laser Disinfection
In addition to deep cleanings, we use gentle laser therapy to target and remove infected tissue, promoting faster healing.

Antibiotic Support with Arestin^®
In some cases, we also apply Arestin, an antibiotic treatment, which is placed directly into the infected gum pockets after a deep cleaning. Arestin works at the source to kill bacteria and fight infection for weeks, supporting your body’s natural healing process and improving treatment results.

In addition to treatment, we focus on prevention. Our team will show you the best ways to care for your gums at home, helping you reduce the chances of future problems and maintain a strong, healthy smile.

Temporomandibular joint disorder (TMD) can cause jaw pain, headaches, and even breathing issues. Dr. Marcus focuses on finding and treating the root cause rather than just masking the symptoms.

He uses joint vibration analysis (JVA) to measure subtle sounds in your jaw joint as it moves. These vibration patterns can reveal disc displacement and other irregularities. A cone beam X-ray then provides a 3D view of your jaw, teeth and airway, giving a precise picture of what may be contributing to your discomfort.

Airway function is also evaluated using Breathe Right^® Nasal Strips, which can serve as both a diagnostic tool and a temporary aid during treatment.

Dr. Marcus has found that much jaw pain stems from the lower jaw being “trapped” by a narrow upper jaw. By carefully expanding the upper jaw, the lower jaw gains room to move naturally—tension eases, and pain often subsides. As he puts it, the upper jaw is usually the troublemaker; the lower jaw just suffers because of it.

To provide relief during treatment, Dr. Marcus also offers cold laser therapy, a gentle, noninvasive method that reduces inflammation, improves circulation, and promotes healing in the jaw muscles and joints. Many patients experience less soreness, improved function, and lasting relief.

Sometimes a tooth cannot be saved, whether due to decay, damage or infection. When that happens, Dr. Marcus provides gentle extractions to remove the tooth safely and with minimal discomfort.

He reduces any trauma to the surrounding tissues by slowly creating access to the tooth. This enables him to gently and efficiently remove the tooth, reducing post-treatment discomfort and speeding healing time. 

Many people feel nervous about visiting the dentist, and that anxiety can make it challenging to get the care they need. To help, we offer oral conscious sedation to create a calm and comfortable experience for our patients.

With oral conscious sedation, you remain awake and able to respond, but you feel deeply relaxed throughout your visit. It can ease feelings of fear, reduce sensitivity to discomfort, and make longer procedures much easier to handle.
